Your files stay on your device
Most PDF sites upload your document to a server, process it there and hand back a link. Seventeen of the tools here never do that — they run as JavaScript in your own browser, so the file never leaves your machine. The exceptions are the six Word, Excel and PowerPoint conversions, which need an office engine a browser cannot run; each of those pages says so before you choose a file.
- No uploadRead by the page, not sent anywhere — bar the six conversions.
- No accountNothing to sign up for, and no email gate before a download.
- Works offlineDisconnect once the page has loaded and the browser tools still run.
